Josses Hill will be targeted at the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival after failing to see out three miles in the King George VI Chase at Kempton.

Although the eight-year-old was only beaten seven lengths on his first try over the distance in the Boxing Day feature, connections were far from convinced he effectively got the trip.

Plans are now in place for the Nicky Henderson-trained gelding to be dropped back down to two miles and five furlongs for a second shot at the Grade One on March 16.
Another horse with Cheltenham on its agenda is Missy Tata after the progressive filly recorded a fifth win on the bounce in a listed race at Limerick yesterday.

Sent off the 2-5 favourite for the Irish Independent Hurdle, Gordon Elliott’s inmate glided six-and-a-half lengths clear of Cap D’Aubois in a three-runner affair over two miles.

Stable companion Stone Hard could also be a horse to follow after he eased 12 lengths clear of Double Island in the D Pack Packaging Celebrating 10 Years In Business Beginners Chase.
