Live ITV Racing coverage is back on our television screens this Friday.
ITV Racing has added an additional fixture to its ever-growing racing schedule.
The channel will cover Newcastle’s Stobart Energy Raceday evening fixture on Friday.
This follows on the back of the success of broadcasting Sandown’s Brigadier Gerard evening card on May 24 on ITV4.
It will also mean racing will benefit from a rest day during the busy FIFA World Cup schedule.
Mark Demuth, Controller of ITV Sport, Production, said: “We were delighted with how well the Sandown fixture was received.
“Adding Newcastle in among our ITV coverage of FIFA World Cup matches will mean that we can cross promote racing even more.”
The highest number of viewers since 2013 watching ITV’s coverage of the Investec Derby recently.
So far in 2018 ITV Racing’s audience figures for live race day coverage are up nine per cent year on year.
The channel has seen average audience figure of 550,000 across both its main channel and ITV4.
Breaking down the figures, ITV is up four per cent year on year with an average audience of 882,000.
ITV4 has grown 20 per cent up to a 325,000 average (which of course does not include major race days that are usually on ITV).
Specialist racing PR Liz Ampairee will become part of the ITV Racing team across the key summer fixtures.
She will support the presenters and the production team.
Ed Chamberlin said: “I am thrilled that Liz is joining the team to enable us to spread the good news for racing.”
Schedule: Next live racing on ITV – Friday, June 29th from Newcastle
Oli Bell presents coverage of this Friday’s meeting.
The live racing action includes the 7.30 Stobart Energy Gosforth Park Cup Handicap Stakes.
This is followed by the 8.05 Stobart Energy Hoppings Fillies’ Stakes, plus races at 6.20, 6.55.
Analysis will come from Jason Weaver, reports from Luke Harvey with commentary by Mark Johnson.
