Star sprinter Battaash advertised his sprinting credentials in front of the ITV Racing cameras on Saturday

Star sprinter Battaash made a winning start to his four-year-old campaign in front of the ITV Racing cameras.
In a close finish to the Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes at Haydock, Battash held off the late charge of Washington DC.
Battaash was not the best away, but made up ground with the stands rail to help.
He was on the opposite side of the course to Kachy, who set a blistering pace on the far side ahead of Just Glamorous.
Last year’s Abbaye hero showed his class as he hit the front in the final furlong under Dane O’Neill.
But Charlie Hills’ charge was challenged late by Aidan O’Brien’s Washington DC, who snatched second spot from Kachy.
Sands Of Mali just held Invincible Army in a thrilling finish to the Armstrong Aggregates Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock.

BOOSTED

The winner of last year’s Gimcrack Stakes boosted his claims for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
The Richard Fahey-trained colt went straight to the front from the stalls under jockey Paul Hanagan.
He travelled well throughout – but he was strongly challenged by Invincible Army at the business end.
The pair were virtually inseparable at the line, but after a tense wait, Sands Of Mali got the verdict by a nose.
Emblazoned was two and a quarter lengths away in third.
Crack On Crack On defied a notable late market drift out to 7/1 to win the valuable Amix Silver Bowl Handicap at Haydock.
The overnight favourite was slowly away, just like he had been when winning at Lingfield last time out.
But the Clive Cox-trained three-year-old possesses a potent turn of foot.
David Probert brought him with a strong run down the centre of the track.

DUO

The horse beat the Richard Fahey duo of Completion and Crownthorpe.
Next up on ITV Racing is the Epsom Oaks Day which will be shown on ITV on Friday.
